    Past...

    What do you get when you combined a Southern New Jersey girl with melodic heavy metal goth music? You get Emily Sin, based in the Southern New Jersey/Philadelphia area.

    Emily, ever since she was a child, had dreamed of one day making it big in the music business. "When I was a little kid I use to have no dreams", she said. "I didn't have any talent that I was aware of. I wasn't good at sports or anything like that. I was the usual geek - all brains and no brawn." It wasn't until she came into the 4th grade when she found her true calling. "There was chorus auditions at my Elementary School and it was one of the first things that I've ever done independently. I thought to myself 'Hey! This could be your last chance to do something other than homework. Go for it!' and that's what I did. Auditions were during the music classes that were mandatory at my school. My teacher at the time, Mrs. Stroud, asked if anyone would want to tryout and I think I was the only one who did". But it wasn't easy at first for her. "I was scared at first because when you're the only one standing up in a room filled with people you hardly know, you tend to panic a bit!", she said with a laugh. "I mean, at least I got the courage to get up and do something with my life. I felt like I was wasting my life away doing nothing but schoolwork! It was straining on my brain and I needed a way out!" So as she made her way to the front of the class, her fears were slowly fading away. Then came the audition. "All I had to do was sit next to my teacher behind her piano and sing the first couple lines of 'My Country 'Tis of Thee'. To be honest, I didn't know the words so thank God she had a book with the lyrics! When I was done, she couldn't believe how much of an angelic voice I had. Even I couldn't believe how much of an angelic voice I had!" She eventually made the cut and went on to do chorus from 4th Grade through to 7th Grade. "I think in the 5th Grade we did a play that went along with our songs and I tried out for a part. All I had to say was 'Not me! I listen to the radio to hear all of my heroes' and that was it! And, yes, I got the part. Not because I'm cute and adorable, but because I said it with such enthusiasm." From that day forward, Emily wouldn't stop singing her heart out and, eventually, wanted to make her dream a reality.
    The
    Present...

    Now at age 19, her dreams have indeed become a reality. Her she's signed to an Indie label known as Beyond Endless Reality, which is owned and operated by her friends known only as Bloody St. Elegance and Morbid Rose. "I'd ask them what their real names are, but because I've known them for so long now, it'd feel kind of awkward, you know?" she says with a giggle. Emily is still looking for band members to join her band, but as long as she has her friends, her family, and her fans, she'll keep on going even if she doesn't find anyone. She believes in herself and won't stop until she reaches her goal. "This is what I love to do. It's sort of like Spiderman's curse - this is my curse, and I'll live with it until the day I die. No one will stop me from what I want to do for the rest of my life." She's currently attending The Art Institute of Pittsburgh to be a Graphic Designer. "I believe......that if..I don't succeed with my music......then I'll at least have something to fall back on. But as strong of a person I am, I will not give up and I will keep on going."
